Meet our first newfie.  After we had done all our homework and decided we definetly wanted a newfoundland, we went on our long search looking for "the right one".  Little did we know how hard that would be!!!  Trying to find a responsible breeder that had or was about to breed proved very difficult.  However after a good few months we were given Viv Pound's name and number.  After a grilling about why, why and why we wanted one we were finally put on a list.  The puppies were due in April and once we had been down to visit Viv, she agreed that we were suitable to be owned by a newf.  We are eternally grateful to Viv and Dave for letting us have such a wonderful girl.  Ribhinn came home with us in the June and we were like kids in a sweetie shop arguing who was driving so we could sit with our new dog.  Jackie won much to her regret as Ribhinn wasn't a good traveller to start with.  Ribhinn was always such a good, calm, well behaved newfie, not like we had been warned about the typical newfie.
